LTO tape has been the go-to backup and archive medium for content creators since its introduction and remains the number one technology used in backup, archive, content offload and file transport. The reason is simple: it's highly reliable and extremely cost-effective.

Until now most LTO tape systems were re-purposed IT systems or design compromised. With the introduction of the SymplyPRO LTO family that's changed. This innovative new family was designed with creatives in mind to deliver more, from space-effective desktop designs to highly serviceable and upgradeable rack systems.

SymplyPRO LTO-1RU systems feature a rugged 1U rackmount chassis supporting one or two half-height LTO-7 or LTO-8 tape drives. Designed with SymplyCABLELESSTM technology each LTO drive can be user removed for incredible serviceability and easy upgrades while integrated premium whisper quiet fan and power supply provide a solution built for years of trouble-free service. Featuring two Thunderbolt 3 ports for daisy chaining with one providing 60-watt fast device charging, SymplyPRO LTO-1RU also includes SAS Expansion and SAS Host connections in case you need to link other SAS device(s) to your Thunderbolt computer or use it with a non-Thunderbolt enabled workstation. SymplyPRO LTO-1RU is available in a choice of either LTO-7 or LTO-8 configurations with performance up to 300MB/sec per drive.

SymplyPRO LTO-1RU supports the Linear Tape File System (LTFS) allowing simple drag and drop file operation similar to a conventional hard drive. LTFS can reduce the need for backup or archive software and allows users to easily interchange data using LTO cartridges or copy data to and from an available storage device, such as an HDD or SSD.

While SymplyPRO LTO-1RU hardware is a step above, the included feature rich SymplyATOM (Advanced Tape Operations and Management) software makes operation and maintenance easy. SymplyPRO LTO-1RU is also certified for use with popular backup and archive utilities for macOS and Windows including YoYotta, Hedge Canister, XenData and Archiware P5.
